Indoor & Outdoor Rental Karts (IORK) – New Zealand Rental Go Kart Series 2026
Season Duration: March – October 2026 (~32 weeks)
Rounds: Four National Events (Wednesday – Sunday)
Structure: Single National Series – Drivers & Teams Championships
Coverage: Live-streamed, filmed & promoted nationwide
Spectators: Are welcome
Event Format
All rounds follow the IORK National Championship structure with identical rules, timing and presentation.
Wednesday Practice sessions – orientation, pit stop technique & dial-in
Thursday (day) Practice & warm-ups
Thursday night, Qualifying heats begin
Friday (all day & night) Qualifying heats continue
Saturday morning Final qualifying heats & semi-finals (if required) + consolation finals
Saturday afternoon – night, Major Finals Session
Sunday morning – IORK Teams Endurance Trophy – official team endurance race each round

Series Format & Scoring

Drivers must compete in at least 3 of 4 rounds to qualify.

Drivers who complete all four rounds:

Dropped their worst round and
-
Earn +5 bonus points for full participation.

Auckland Grand Finale = Double Points.

Points awarded for all heats and finals.

Teams Endurance Trophy results contribute to the Teams Championship.
Series Titles

IORK New Zealand Driver Champion – Best 3 of 4 rounds (+ bonus if all 4).

IORK Teams Endurance Trophy Champion – points from Sunday team events.

North Island Champion – Wellington + Auckland.

South Island Champion – Christchurch + Nelson.
Categories & Minimum Weights
All drivers must meet the minimum weight for their class (including gear & ballast).
Underweight drivers may use an approved weight vest as ballast to reach the limit.

Under 18 (Youth) 55 kg May be capped based on grid size
55 - 69.9 kg — Lightweight Division
70 – 84.9 kg — Standard Division
85 – 99.9 kg — Midweight Division
100 kg & Over — Heavyweight Division
Ladies: 55 kg minimum. Underweight drivers may use a weight vest as a form of ballast.
(Final classes confirmed based on 2025 entry data.)
