🚦 Driver Spotlight: Ben Mills 🚦

For Nelson's Ben Mills, motorsport has always been more than just a hobby - it's been a lifelong passion.

Returning for his third IORK campaign, Ben has steadily built experience within the championship, with a best result of 6th place in the Under 69.9kg category. While he's still chasing that breakthrough performance, he's determined to keep climbing the order and challenge the front-runners in 2026.

Ben's racing background extends beyond karting. Before focusing on rental kart racing, he competed in autocross events with the Nelson Car Club, piloting a well-used Honda Civic around gravel courses. These days, you'll regularly find him competing in our monthly racing league (CKT) at Pro Karts Nelson, continuing to sharpen his racing skills and build valuable experience against strong local competition.

Working in hospitality, Ben balances work with an obsession for motorsport. Whether it's Formula 1, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, or local racing events, he's always following the action. Inspired by legends such as Lewis Hamilton, Greg Murphy, and Carey Harwood, he dreams of one day achieving the ultimate goal - winning IORK 🏆

While he keeps his favourite track close to his chest, we prefer to believe that it's the home track of IORK, here at Pro Karts, Nelson (are we a tad biased? 🤔)

When asked for a fun fact about himself, Ben's response was simple but intriguing: "Technically a cyborg." We'll let everyone else try to figure that one out 🤖

With experience in both autocross and competitive karting, Ben arrives with plenty of racing knowledge and a determination to improve on his previous championship performances. The pace is there, and another year of experience could make him a genuine threat in the Under 69.9kg category.

After steadily progressing through his first two IORK campaigns, Ben will be looking to take another step forward this year. Don't be surprised if he's one of the drivers making life difficult for the favourites throughout the weekend.
