š¦ Driver Spotlight: Del Ellis š¦

Meet 43-year-old Del "Papa Bear" Ellis from Christchurch, returning for his fourth IORK appearance! šš»
Del first found his way into karting through his work at Supa-Karts, and what started there has turned into four IORK campaigns. He's back again this year, competing in the 100kg & Over category.
With four appearances under his belt, Del knows what it takes to get through an IORK weekend - and this year, his goal is simple: make the finals and finish every race šŖ
Del's love of motorsport extends beyond karting. He's always enjoyed watching speedway racing at Ruapuna and Woodford Glen, so the noise, competition and close racing of motorsport are certainly nothing new to him.
When asked about his racing inspiration, Del simply said "everyone" - a pretty fitting answer for someone who seems to be here for the love of racing itself ā¤ļøšļø
His dream racing format? Teams racing, and his personal racing philosophy is equally straightforward: "Just be happy."
Away from the track, Del works as a metal polisher/sandblaster in Christchurch. But come race day, he'll be swapping the workshop for the kart and looking to put another IORK appearance in the books.
After four trips to IORK, Del is no stranger to the grid. The question this year is whether Papa Bear can make his way into the finals and put together his strongest campaign yet š»š„
Good luck Del - we're looking forward to seeing Papa Bear back on track! š
