Meet Roman Lally, a 14-year-old from Wellington who's bringing a serious amount of sim racing experience to his first IORK campaign!Ā š
A student at Wellington College, Roman has already spent more than 200 hours on iRacing, putting in plenty of virtual laps before making the jump to real-world competition.
His love of racing comes from iRacing, and his favourite drivers are two names well known to fans of Formula 1: Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson šļø
Roman has experience racing at Daytona Adventure Park, and he'll now be taking on a much bigger challenge at IORK, competing in the 69.9kg & Under category.
But karting isn't necessarily where Roman sees his racing journey ending. His ultimate goal is to race in Formula 1 or prototype sports car racing, so IORK will be an opportunity to start putting those racing skills to the test outside of the simulator.
With 200+ hours of iRacing already under his belt, Roman won't be coming into his debut completely cold. He's spent plenty of time learning racecraft, chasing lap times and battling other drivers virtually. Now it's time to see how that translates when there's an actual kart underneath him! š„
