š¦ Driver Spotlight: Kyle FordeĀ š¦
Meet Kyle Forde, a 52-year-old from Dunedin who's bringing a mix of real-world motorsport, sim racing and plenty of competitive spirit to his first IORK campaign!Ā š
Kyle works as a Director and describes himself as an "IT grunt"Ā who keeps busy with water polo, bodyboarding and a bit of iRacing on the side. While he's not claiming a huge racing background, he's clearly no stranger to getting competitive, whether that's behind the wheel or in the water! šļø
His entry into IORK comes just for fun, with sim racing helping fuel his interest in getting out on a real track. And when it comes to his racing hero, there's an obvious choice: Max Verstappen.
Kyle will be competing in the 100kg & Over category, making the trip up from Dunedin and taking on a field of drivers who are all chasing their own IORK glory.
His favourite track is Highlands, and when asked about his ultimate racing goal, Kyle kept it simple: have fun. Sometimes that's exactly what racing is all about! š
From iRacing to the real thing, Kyle is now ready to see how his virtual experience translates to the kart. Will the sim racing skills come out when the lights go green? We'll find out! š„
Good luck, Kyle! Enjoy the racing, make the most of your first IORK and have a blast out there. š¦š
