Meet Rowan Poole, a 39-year-old Auckland local who's making his IORK debut with a pretty special reason for getting behind the wheel š
Working in cyber security at Spotica, Rowan is originally from South Africa and moved to New Zealand three years ago. Racing has been part of his life for a long time, thanks to his dad's love of motorsport and the karting trips they enjoyed together growing up.
That passion has stuck! Wherever Rowan travels, he makes a point of checking out the local karting track and seeing if he can crack the top 10 lap times. Now, he's bringing that competitive spirit to IORK for the first time, racing in the 70ā84.9kg category.
And the occasion? IORK is Rowan's 40th birthday present to himself!Ā š„³šļø
His racing hero is Michael Schumacher, and his dream is to own a racing car and travel to different tracks, enjoying the experience along the way. Sounds like a pretty great goal to us!
