Welcome to the latest edition of the IORK Newsletter.

IORK (Indoor and Outdoor Rental Karts) is New Zealand's premier rental karting championship, bringing together competitors from all forms of motorsport, along with amateur racers, for one common goal—to compete for the title of New Zealand Indoor and Outdoor Rental Kart Champion.

Whether your background is rental karting, circuit racing, speedway, motocross, rallying, sim racing, or you've simply always wanted to test yourself against the country's best, IORK provides a professionally organised national event where everyone competes on equal terms.

Our vision is simple: to create New Zealand's most prestigious rental karting event while promoting sportsmanship, fair competition and an unforgettable racing experience.

Rules and Regulations

Updated – 17 July 2026

The latest review of the IORK Rules and Regulations has now been completed.

These updates have been made to improve consistency, fairness and safety while providing clearer guidance for competitors and officials throughout the event.

Recent updates include:

Clarification of overtaking and racing room.
Improvements to incident review procedures.
Updated race control and pit lane procedures.
Clarified driver responsibilities and sporting conduct.
Minor wording changes to improve consistency throughout the regulations.

While most of the changes are clarifications rather than major rule changes, all competitors are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the latest version before the championship event.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback during the review process. Your suggestions continue to help improve IORK for all competitors.

New Zealand Teams Championship

Planning is underway for a brand new New Zealand Teams Championship.

This exciting endurance-style competition will see teams from around the country compete together for national honours, adding a new dimension to rental kart racing in New Zealand.

The proposed championship will feature:

National rankings

More information will be announced once the format has been finalised. Ticket sales have been put on hold, we hope to have this all finalised very soon.
